Abstract:

Modern (theoretical) PHYSICS seems to be in deep crisis today as many of its core aspects are not empirically well-confirmed. Heated exchanges among physicists on the scientific status of physical theories with little or, at best, a tenuous connection to possible experimental tests is highly visible in the popular scientific literature. Some physicists (e.g., Carroll 2014, 2019; Ijjas et al., 2017) argue that science must discard empirical testability as one of its defining properties and the highly explanatory theories of present-day PHYSICS should be exempted from experimental testing, while others (e.g., Ellis & Silk 2014) spot in these arguments (for softening the testability or falsifiability requirement for modern PHYSICS) a dangerous tendency to undermine science. The philosopher of science who naturally draws most attention in these current debates is Karl Popper (1902-1994). His views, however, are often misrepresented in these debates. The prime objective of this paper is to explain how a more enlightened perspective on the ongoing debates can be obtained by a careful scrutiny of the Popperian criterion of falsifiability. As a first step in achieving this objective we will analyze the two major (conceptual) failures on which the current controversies rest. Our next step will be examining the controversial string theory to see whether the criteria of falsifiability is a ‘blunt instrument’ for determining its scientific status.

Abstract:

It is shown that the understanding and applications of Newton’s laws are not so easy for students on the actual problems in their life. In the other hands, the PHYSICS of flight is one of the attractive and beautiful subjects for most of them. The different motions of paper plains are learned by teaching the PHYSICS of flight. This subject is applied for teaching the concepts and applications of Newton’s laws in a circular motion. In our study 50 (boys and girls) students are participated in three separated paper plane flight workshops. They designed and made different kinds of paper planes which had special motions according to the PHYSICS’ laws. A comparison between the pre-exam and post-exam shows the increasing of the correct answers. It is shown that the workshops could have a positive influence on the understanding of the concepts and applications of Newton’s laws. So there was an enhancement on the attitude of students about PHYSICS and its applications.

Abstract:

Honeybee, a small -although powerful- creature moves from one place to another to make an elixir, which cures different diseases. To make one kilogram of honey the small creature has to carry 150000 pieces of pollen and suck the sap of ten million flowers. Both honey and the honeybee poison have been used in treating diseases for thousands of years. The product made by such tiny creatures has been adored by the peoples of different lands and the divine books of different religions have appreciated honey. The traditional medicine books recommend honey for treating diseases such as toothache, cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, malnutrition, healing wounds, and so on. Honeybee poison has been advised for treating rheumatic diseases and arthritis and so forth. Recent studies have shown that poison of the honeybee is a complicated jumble of enzymes, proteins and amino acids, while honey contains different minerals such as calcium, sulfur, potassium, manganese, and phosphorous. Honey also contains different amino acids, vitamins and sugar. This article presents the cases where honeybee poison is used in traditional medicine and the researches conducted on honey and poison of honeybee during recent years.

Abstract:

Accurate knowledge of the basic principle of imaging PHYSICS helps better understanding of normal anatomy and pathological imaging findings of the diseases. This is more necessary in advanced imaging techniques like MRI because of the complexity of the basic PHYSICS of the technique. In basic MRI PHYSICS workshop, we discuss about this technique from the primary concepts. The content is very simplified and is showed by slides, animation and easy pictures for better understanding. In the beginning of the lecture, the structure of atoms and their magnetic characteristics are explained and then step by step, we learn how to use this character to produce signal and usages of it to make an image. Also basic pulse sequence will be explained subsequently. This workshop is recommended for all radiologists, residents of radiology, technologists and anyone who wants to know more about MRI.

Abstract:

Hempel's Dilemma is among several arguments posed against physicalism. Physicalists can respond to this dilemma in several ways. The present article aims to analyze Andrew Melnyk and Janice Dowell's responses based on their specific accounts about the conception of the term "physical". Melnyk's account is based upon a scientific realist's approach to natural sciences. We will focus on and discuss about that weather we can adopt such an approach to the present science and in particular the present PHYSICS or not. Dowell, however, defends an account according to witch ideal future PHYSICS should be replaced by an ideal science that has hallmarks of a scientific theory and differs in its subject matter. The author wants to show that these accounts, each one in respect to particular aspects, cannot play the given role in formulation of the physicalism thesis.

Abstract:

Prediction of hydrodynamic loads during water impact is of great significance in the structural design of FLYING vehicles. Also the importance of the slam force of waves on the members of offshore structures cannot be overemphasized. No theoretical tool is available to handle this complicated phenomenon exactly and the experimental procedures in the laboratory are both time-consuming and expensive. In this paper, a computer program based on the VOF method is applied to evaluate the water impact outcome in a real situation. To asses the capabilities of the CFD code, two classical problems including water impact of a wedge and a circular cylinder traveling at constant speeds are studied. In a real situation the descend velocity is decreased by the impact loads known as "deceleration effect". This change in speed is taken into account in an iterative procedure and the flow field around the base of a WIG craft is computed. All flow field computations in this study include the effects of viscosity, turbulence, gravity and surface tension. The comparison of results with experimental data shows the efficiency and correctness of this straightforward iterative method.

Abstract:

The growth and use of smartphones have become a pervasive issue in many countries. On the other hand, one of the new and applied technologies that have been able to attract many enthusiasts is the civilian vertical drones or multi-rotors. The diverse and sometimes unique capabilities of FLYING robots (unmanned aerial vehicles) compared to manned aircraft, along with the much lower operating costs of these devices, have increased the exploitation and development of new applications of FLYING robots in recent years. One way to develop and implement FLYING robots for the general public is to reduce the cost of FLYING robots, making them accessible and easy to use without special training for these devices; The proposed solution for this issue is the development of mobile-based FLYING robots.

Abstract:

In this research, we introduce fundamental hypergroups and dependent hypergroups then we investigate a connection between hypergroup theory and nuclear PHYSICS and fundamental particles. We show that interaction process such as Lepton actions in fundamental particle PHYSICS and nuclear fusion Stars forms a fundamental hypergroup.

Abstract:

Algebraic hyperstructures theory is a natural extension of the classical ‎ ‎ algebraic structures ‎. Because of importance and new viewpoints in this theory, we try to apply this theory to the elementary particle PHYSICS and nuclear PHYSICS presenting the definitions and the concepts of the algebraic hyperstructures. In this work we intend to use this new branch of mathematics to describe the interaction between leptons in the elementary particle PHYSICS and the fusion processes in the nuclear PHYSICS.
